What do the ingredients do?
Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis): It moisturizes the skin and contains antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Its high levels of antioxidants (natural compounds that protect against cell damage) and a high percentage of Vitamin E improve the elasticity of skin, slow the signs of aging and minimize the appearance of scars. Its makeup is similar to the oil (sebum) your body naturally produces and this makes it less likely to clog your pores, leading to fewer breakouts and less severe acne. Jojoba oil has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It may help relieve dryness, flaking and itching. People who have inflammatory skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema may find jojoba oil especially beneficial.
Argan Oil (Argania spinosa L): This nourishing superfood for your skin provides several health benefits. It’s packed with omega fatty acids, vitamin E, and linoleic acids, all of which work to lightly moisturize your skin, soften dry patches, increase the elasticity of the skin and even reduce acne. The antioxidant activity in argan oil helps protect the skin against free radical damage caused by the sun, which prevents burns and hyperpigmentation. Not only does the vitamin E in argan oil act as an anti-inflammatory for red, reactive skin, but it also helps control your skin’s oil production by balancing out your sebum levels, so you’ll have fewer breakouts and less irritation. Plus, all of the antioxidants naturally found in argan oil are known for helping soothe eczema and fade scars.
Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Dulcis): Containing Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Omega-3 fatty acid and Zinc can help with reducing puffiness and under-eye circles, treating dry skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis and improve acne. Because almond oil is an anti-inflammatory, it may also help ease swelling of the skin. It helps reverse sun damage and reduces the appearance of scars.
Vitamin E: It moisturizes the skin as well as being anti-inflammatory and a powerful antioxidant that may be effective at reducing UV damage in skin and help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals.
Lavender Essential Oil (Lavandula angustifolia): Triggers the production of three of your body’s most powerful antioxidants: glutathione (known as your body’s master antioxidant), catalase and superoxide dismutase. When cells are under stress, it’s glutathione that comes to the rescue. Lavender oil is also helpful for wound healing because it triggers protein synthesis, including collagen. It helps balance out moisture levels in your skin. It’s an anti-inflammatory that can reduce redness and a natural hydrator that can repair dry skin without making it too greasy. It also promotes better sleep and reduces anxiety.
Tea Tree Essential Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia): This is one of the most notable antiseptics in alternative medicine. Tea tree oil contains more than 100 different components and is rich in anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, all of which can be utilized to treat many common skin issues, from reducing the severity and duration of acne, psoriasis and eczema outbreaks, to healing wounds caused by bacteria.
