Gluten free date scones
This has got to be one of the easiest ways to create delicious scones. Made with gluten-free flour and almond meal - they are just melting in your mouth.
Preparation: 5 minutes
Baking: 10 minutes
Makes 8 scones
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups gluten free plain flour
1/4 cup almond meal
2 teaspoons baking powder
pinch of salt
about 1/2 cup dates, diced
50 g organic butter
120 ml organic milk
Method:
Preheat the oven to 220 C (440 F).
Put the butter into a dish in the oven until melted.
Mix the flour, almond meal, baking powder, salt and dates together in a bowl.
Pour in the melted butter and milk and combine.
Tip out the mixture onto a lightly floured surface, form into a rectangle with your hands and cut into 8 pieces.
Put the 8 pieces close together onto a baking paper lined baking tray and brush the top with a little bit of extra milk.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Enjoy straight away while still warm.
